Coast Guard Academy Tanks

To get to the Coast Guard Academy, take I-95 south over the Gold Star Bridge. Take Exit 84 (first exit on the New London side) which exits on the right.

Upon exiting I-95, stay in the center lane (Marked Exit 84N) that leads to Route 32 toward Norwich. As soon as you come onto Route 32, the Coast Guard Academy will be on your right.

Proceed to the first traffic light and turn right on Deshon Street (headed down the hill toward the CGA North entrance) and then take an immediate left onto Nameaug Street. This street curves around and becomes Farnsworth headed down to the Thames River.

At the bottom of the hill is the entrance to the Thames Shipyard. At the bottom of the hill, turn right onto the service road, this runs parallel alongside the railroad tracks. Park on the left-hand side of the road, closest to the tracks. The boat house is across the tracks on the water, so you will need to walk through the gate, over the tracks and proceed to the boathouse.

Lake Waramaug - Kent Regatta & CT Public School Championships

(This park is always very boggy, waterproof shoes a must!)
Take Interstate 95 South to Exit 69, Route 9 North.
Take the left-hand Exit 20S, to Route 91 South to Route 691 West which ends at Route 84.
Take 84 West into Waterbury, take 17-- Middlebury, Route 64 West.
Take 64 West to Route 6, go right. Stay on Route 6 until you reach Route 47.
Turn left onto Route 47 North. Go to the end, at Route 202.
Take left onto Route 202 West for a short distance (see sign for Lake Waramaug) to Route 45 North to the lake.
Go 1 mile more (the lake is on your left) until you reach North Shore Road on the left. See sign to state park. Follow North Shore Road two miles to the park.

Lake Quinsigamond, Worcester, MA - For Simsbury Invitational (DRC Boathouse)

Take I-95 South to Gold Star Memorial Bridge in Groton/New London
Take Rte. 32 North from the bridge to I-395 North.
I-395 ends in Massachusetts as it runs into I-290 (do NOT take Mass Pike by accident!!)
Take I-290 into Worcester to exit 22 at end of exit ramp, go left onto Main Street North. Follow Main Street under the interstate and take a left onto North Quinsigamond Ave. Follow signs for the boat launch, and the Donahue Rowing Center ¼ mile on right.

Lake Quinsigamond, MA - New England Championships

Take I-95 South to Gold Star Memorial Bridge in Groton/New London
Take Rte. 32 North from the bridge to I-395 North.
I-395 ends in Massachusetts as it runs into I-290 (do NOT take Mass Pike by accident!!)
Take I-290 into Worcester to exit 21 (it may say Plantation St., also see UMASS Medical Center Hospital sign)
At end of exit ramp, turn right onto Plantation St. Turn left onto North Road, between Mercandante Funeral Home and UMass Medical Center. Turn right onto Lake Avenue
Follow to the State Park for parking. Follow the signs.

Middletown, CT - the Emerson Regatta

I-95 South to Rte. 9 North (get in right lane while on the bridge over the CT. River)
Rte. 9 North to left-hand Exit 15 at traffic light.
Immediately turn left (it's like a U-turn) to be on DeKoven Drive.
Go to second light, turn left and go under the highway.
Bear left, Harbor Park is on the right.

Pomfret Regatta from SE CT:

Take Interstate 395 north to Exit 97 (Route 44.)
Take a left off the exit onto Route 44 west.
Go about 1 mile and take a right onto Route 171 west.
Go 3.7 miles to where Route 171 turns left.
Stay on Route 171 for 1.2 miles and you will see Sprucedale Greenhouse and Tree Farm on your left.
Take a left after Sprucedale onto East Quasset Road. Stay on East Quasset Road for 0.3 miles and then take a right on Quasset Road.
Go 0.2 miles and the entrance to Pomfret’s crew property will be on the left (right before the road turns to dirt).

Boat trailers proceed down the paved drive to the boathouse, spectators must park immediately to the right.

To EO Smith, Coventry Lake Storrs, Connecticut

I-95 South to Rt 32 North to Rt 395 North to Rt 2 North and Pick Up Rt 32 North again towards Franklin/Willimantic.

Once in Willimantic turn right on Rt 66 and stay straight onto Jackson Street. Jackson Street becomes Rt 195/Storrs Road towards Storrs. Turn left onto Rt 275/South Eagleville Rd just before Uconn Campus. Follow Rt 275 about 4 miles crossing Rt 32/31 passing a cemetery on your right. Go past cemetery to second entrance and into Coventry Lake Park.

To East Lyme, Connecticut

I-95 South to exit 75. Go straight on exit to traffic light (Rts. 1 & 161). From the lights, go straight exactly 1.1 miles to sign on the Right for boat launch and Lake Pattagansett sign. See the boat house and hulls there. Park at the launch area.

To Powers Lake (Novice Only)

From 95 North or South: Exit 74
Take left at end
Take left at light (ford dealership on left, mcds on right)
This is Rte 1 (Boston Post Rd)
Follow for approx 2+ miles
Take right onto Scott Rd (there will be a small closed produce stand on right before scott rd)
Follow approx 2 miles +/- (hilly road – nearing end when you reach a long downhill run)
At bottom of hill, road splits right and left
Yale outdoor center is a dirt road right in the middle of the split (a good sized sign and a volunteer parent will be there) - spectators enter here
The boat launch is further up on Whistletown Road. Someone will be at the Yale Entrance to help direct trailers
Crews / trailers take left onto Whistletown Road.
Boat launch is approx ½ mile on right.

Farmington Boat House:

From Points East (Rte. 84W):
Exit 39 for Route 4 off of 84 E or W. For 84W it is a left exit.
Go straight through the lights onto Rte. 4 West.
At the next light, turn left onto Rte. 10 South.
*At the 2nd light, turn right onto Meadow Road.
Follow across flats, straight.
Take 1st right past fields into Tunxis Mead.
Follow to end of paved road (around ball and soccer fields).
Go through gate onto dirt road, bear right down road and follow to gravel parking lot on left.

From Points West (Rte. 84E):
Take the Rte. 72 exit off Rte. 84 towards Plainville.
Follow to exit 1 Rte. 177N (left exit).
Right off exit onto 177N.
Follow to Rte. 6
Right on Rte. 6. Get in left lane.
At 2nd light, left onto New Britain Ave.
At 2nd stop sign, right onto Red Oak Hill.
Second left onto Tunix Mead.
Follow to end of paved road (around ball and soccer fields).
Go through gate onto dirt road, bear right down road and follow to gravel parking lot on left.

From Points SouthEast (Rte. 9N):
Follow Rte. 9 to end, taking left exit to 84W.
Stay in right lane for exit 39. Follow directions from * for 84W above.

From Points NorthWest (Simsbury/Harwington):
Take Rte. 4E or Rte. 10S to their intersection in Farmington.
Go south on Rte. 10.
Follow directions from * for 84W above.
