New Josh Piver
The big news in for the 2008 season in on the equipment side. In an effort to stay as competitive as possible, a decision was made by the Friends of Stonington Crew to sell two of the older rowing shells the Josh Piver and the Falco. The proceeds from this sale in addition to money raised by the Friends of Stonington Crew will be used to purchase a new boat for the program. We are pleased to announce that the Josh Piver will be replaced with a new boat to our program. The new boat a 2005 Resolute Freedom purchased from Tabor Academy will be once again named Josh Piver and will be a welcome addition to our fleet. Josh Piver was a Stonington High School graduate killed in the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center.
